AI IT support that can inspect the computer

Most AI support stops at instructions. MapleMCP can give an authorized assistant evidence from the enrolled machine itself, then provide structured tools for remediation when the user has enabled those capabilities.

From “try this” to evidence-driven support

Identify the correct device.

Support starts from an enrolled endpoint associated with the authorized account, not a guessed hostname or arbitrary internet target.

Inspect the problem.

Use file reads, content search, process state, diagnostics, or a non-destructive terminal command to collect evidence.

Explain what was found.

The user or technician can review the diagnosis and the proposed next action before a consequential change.

Remediate through the narrowest tool.

Edit a known file, run an authorized command, stop a verified process, or perform another enabled operation.

Verify the result.

Check the same endpoint again rather than assuming that a command returning without a transport error means the issue is solved.

Capabilities that matter to support

File evidence

Read logs and configuration inside allowed directories, search for known values, and make exact edits when authorized.

Process evidence

Inspect running processes and managed command output, preserving the distinction between observation and termination.

Command-line diagnostics

Run platform commands under the installed agent user's permissions for checks that do not have a dedicated structured tool.

Mobile support

Android can expose device state and, with separate OS permissions, notifications or the visible UI for support tasks that depend on what the user sees.

Consent and least privilege are part of the workflow

An AI assistant should not gain a hidden administrative channel simply because a user asked for help. MapleMCP keeps enrollment, account authorization, device capability selection, and operating-system permissions as separate boundaries. Support teams can choose a narrower device policy when full shell or UI control is unnecessary.

Early beta: MapleMCP is infrastructure for authorized remote AI assistance, not a claim that every support issue can or should be fixed autonomously. Human review remains appropriate for ambiguous, destructive, security-sensitive, or business-critical changes.

Common questions

Can an AI support agent actually inspect my computer?

With MapleMCP and your authorization, the assistant can use the capabilities enabled for the enrolled device, such as files, search, processes, terminal work, diagnostics, or supported Android controls.

Does the support agent automatically get administrator access?

No. Desktop operations run with the configured agent user permissions, and capability groups can be limited per device.

Can MapleMCP support a family member or customer remotely?

The technical model supports remote enrolled endpoints. The device still needs to be deliberately associated with the appropriate MapleMCP account and permissions before the AI can use it.

Should every troubleshooting step be automated?

No. High-impact, ambiguous, security-sensitive, or business-critical actions are good candidates for human review before execution.
